Four Months
Makayla is 4 months now and the fun is really beginning. She is eating carrots and rice cereal and pretty much likes whatever we feed her. She is starting to giggle and loves her PawPaw!

Three Months Old
Makayla turned three months old on January 10th. Her daddy wanted to be part of the picture, so we happily obliged.
She is really starting to coo and try to talk. She seems to already show some preference to her left hand which would not surprise us since Meghan is left handed. She weighs 14.5 pounds and is wearing 6 month clothes (we still squeeze her into some of the 3-6 month that she just got for Christmas). She now engages with your eyes and follows her mommy and daddy around the room when they walk by.

Makayla photos December 2012
She is growing so fast it is hard to keep up with her with photos. She now weighs over 10 pounds and just starting to smile. These are 7 weeks photos. I had purchased this Christmas outfit right after I found out we were having a granddaughter. We are having so much fun, it is ridiculous!!!

Now that we have Makayla, I think the blog will now have to be about her! I am going to start posting her pictures here instead of Facebook I think. Here is her one month old picture. She has already lost her newborn look and is trying to smile at times (yes, I know the difference between that and gas!!!). We are really enjoying her, it is such a blessing to have her here with us.

When you think a fastball is coming, you gotta be ready to hit a curveball...Wow, how true is this? I think back to just a few months ago and never saw this one coming. Rick has cancer and it has pervaded every area of our lives...it just seeps in without being invited. Rick's faith is unshakable and knows he will be healed, that this is just a process to walk through. But it is a process...chemotherapy, radiation, blood count checks, nausea meds, and pure exhaustion. He has never had to deal with something like this before and really doesn't know how to act, not feeling good enough to mow the yard or clean the garage. A process. One day at a time, literally, hanging onto the Lord and his promise.
