The Huntsville Item wrote about Matt today - click here
Matt pitched in the second and last game of the conference tournament this week and gave up no runs, in 9 1/3 innings with 12 strikeouts total. He was awarded the mvp of the tournmanet because he came into the game in the 4th inning and threw 5 2/3 innings giving up 4 hits (3 in the last inning with two outs) 8Ks and no runs. He was stellar! They will now start the road to the world series. Here is a video of the last few moments of the game.

Sam Houston Beats #7 Baylor
We found out yesterday that Nate will be staying in Kansas for the summer to play baseball for the Netwon Rebels. Here is their website - http://www.newtonrebels.4t.com/ they start playing games on June 1. I am sad he won't be home for the summer but I know this is what he has to do to be a successful college pitcher but I sure like my chickens home in the nest! Hopefully Rick and I can go up and see some of the games.

That drops his ERA down to 1.57. The announcers kept talking about his amazing control and big breaking ball.
Nate got his first win in the books! He has doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday so more info to come.

Baseball March 14th
Sam Houston played Texas State University a doubleheader today in San Marcos. They won the first game but in the second, they were down 6-2 in the last out of the 6th inning and Matt came in to pitch 2 1/3 innings only giving up 1 hit, no runs and 1 strikeout. That will bring his ERA down even further to 2.13. They lost the game but Matt pitched great and hopefully they will win the series tomorrow.

Baseball Update
Nate's team played yesterday in Kansas but had to call the game for a tornado warning. They were hustled off the field and into a concrete building. Only in Kansas, right?
